Review by James Attias
Detective Comics #1094 gives us heart, it gives us comedy, it gives us that good old fashioned superhero pizzazz! Let’s jump in.
Inside
This issue takes the dynamic duo on the offensive. They’ve been on the backfoot so far this run, whereas now Bruce and Damian have entered the chat! We’re treated to some great moments this issue. With Bruce Wayne doing his best undercover billionaire impression, and Damian going undercover. Moments like these are fun to read as they’re the types of plot threads that you would see in a TV show. So I enjoyed reading them.
The mystery element in this story is still going strong. I’m still a bit worried about the Scooby-Doo only new character will be the villain element. But I have high hopes that Taylor will surprise us. In Tom Taylor we trust.
That’s My Boy
I loved reading the parts of this book that show Bruce being proud as a father. Damian has always been the most polarizing Robin. With his introduction showing him as a brat who was deadly and very full of himself. Seeing the young crimefighter showing his good side and bravery really was a treat in this book. As well as the reader being led that Bruce would be disappointed only to be shown that Batman’s son isn’t too different from himself.
Conclusion
Detective Comics #1094 isn’t the wildest issue ever, isn’t the most impactful, but gosh darn it, it’s a great read, and furthers the plot in an entertaining and engaging way! What more could you ask for?! See you next issue, loyal readers!
